Applications Open for Fall 2023 Scholarships

The personal injury attorneys of The Edwards Law Firm dedicate their legal services to accident and injury victims in the Corpus Christi area of Texas. As the first line of defense for victims of serious injuries, our lawyers have developed an immense appreciation for the trust we have built throughout their community and among our clients. By offering The Edwards Law Firm Community First Scholarship, we hope to help college students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities through their education and careers.

The Edwards Law Firm offers one $1,000 scholarship each semester to a student who aspires to utilize their career path to aid in the advancement of their community’s health, safety, and overall well-being. The scholarship award can be used for tuition and other educational expenses at a U.S. university or college.

Eligibility Criteria

When applying for The Edwards Law Firm Community First Scholarship for the Fall 2023 semester, applicants will need to meet all of the following criteria:

You are at least 18 years old
You are a U.S. citizen
You will be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university for the Fall 2023 semester
You are pursuing a career that positively impacts the well-being and safety of your community
You have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

Steps to Apply

Applications must include a one-page essay of approximately 500 words that responds to the following prompt:

In your education and career path, how will your work contribute to the health, safety, and overall well-being of the community at large?

Additionally, applicants should submit proof of enrollment in a U.S. college or university. To be eligible for this award, please provide contact information and a professional photograph of yourself.

The deadline to submit all materials is June 27, 2023 by 11:59pm

Our Judging Criteria

Once all applications have been reviewed, the scholarship team at The Edwards Law Firm will select a winner for the Fall 2023 scholarship based on the following judging criteria:

For the Fall 2023 scholarship, we will determine and notify the winner by July 27, 2023. We will send the award directly to the winning student’s financial aid office. By submitting this application, scholarship recipients consent to the use of their essay, photograph, and name on The Edwards Law Firm marketing channels, including the firm’s website and social media.
